Ghost of Tsushima 2 Speculations Fueled by New Job Listings

A Ghost of Tsushima sequel is all but confirmed considering the game’s reception as well as its commercial success. It has already spurred an expansion and a movie project, and continues to attract players to its standalone Legends multiplayer. If new job listings are anything to go by, Sucker Punch Productions may have begun developing Ghost of Tsushima 2, or whatever it’ll be called.

When is Ghost of Tsushima 2 expected to release?

Sony Interactive Entertainment is known to give PlayStation Studios time and space for their projects so we can’t be sure where a potential Ghost of Tsushima sequel is in the pipeline at present, if a sequel is planned at all. Over on its website, Sucker Punch says it is looking for a Senior Combat Designer and a Technical Combat Designer, and both positions require having played Ghost of Tsushima and having an understanding of its core systems. “Prototype, polish, and balance enemies, as well as player abilities,” reads one job description. “Prototype, polish, and balance player abilities, combat actions and progression items,” reads another.

While this doesn’t confirm a sequel is in the works, it does seem to suggest that Sucker Punch is looking to expand and improve Ghost of Tsushima’s core systems. Whether it’s for Legends multiplayer or a new game altogether is anybody’s guess right now but hopeful fans are speculating that we’ll see Jin Sakai’s journey continue.

Opinion: Ghost of Tsushima 2 could be the next PS5 killer app

Zarmena writes… If Ghost of Tsushima 2 is indeed planned and will release in the next few years, it’s likely to be a PS5-only game, which is excellent news. Sucker Punch can focus on fully harnessing the power of the PS5 and I can only imagine how gorgeous the game will look. The original looked great on the PS4 but often made me feel like my console was on fire. I can’t wait to see what’s next from Sucker Punch.

In other news, PSVR 2 is rumored to be releasing in Q1 2023, and PlayStation Now games for March 2022 have been revealed.
