Ghostwire: Tokyo is getting a free visual novel prelude that introduces players to the game’s world ahead of its release later this month. The good news is PS5 and PS4 players don’t have to wait for a release date for Ghostwire: Tokyo – Prelude as it hits the PlayStation Store today, March 1.
What is Ghostwire: Tokyo – Prelude?
Ghostwire: Tokyo – Prelude: The Corrupted Casefile is a free visual novel that serves as a prequel to Ghostwire: Tokyo. Featuring KK and his team of supernatural detectives, the group are trying to solve the mystery of an unusual disappearance. The problem is their investigation kicks up something “even more sinister”. The prequel also investigates the back stories of the different detectives and the way players interact with each of the characters will help shape their stories in the prequel.
The prelude is available today for all PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players. Those who will be playing the game on Steam or through the Epic Games Store will have to wait until March 8 for their turn. Meanwhile, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be released on all of the above platforms on March 25. Those who pre-order the game from the PlayStation Store will receive the Biker and Hannya outfits. Those who splash a bit of extra cash and go for the Deluxe Edition will also get three days of early access to the game (from March 22) as well as the Shinobi Outfit, Kunai Weapon, and Streetwear Fashion Pack.
In other news, the legendary difficulty of all of FromSoftware’s Souls games, including the newly released Elden Ring, is a deliberate decision. The studio’s president Hidetaka Miyazaki has even said it is part of their identity and it won’t be changing anytime soon. Elsewhere, Twisted Metal will be coming to Peacock as a live-action comedy show in a partnership between Sony Pictures TV, PlayStation Productions, and Universal Television.
