Hogwarts Legacy State of Play

First Look at Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay Coming This Week With State of Play

A Hogwarts Legacy State of Play is coming this Thursday at 2 pm ET/5 pm PT. The live stream will focus entirely on the Harry Potter RPG, running for over twenty minutes. Developer Avalanche software says the show will “feature over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay.” Footage will be captured on PS5.

What will the Hogwarts Legacy State of Play include?

“Since we first revealed Hogwarts Legacy, the trailer has been viewed over 28 million times on the PlayStation YouTube channel. We promised to share more this year, and we’re finally ready to deliver on that promise,” Chandler Wood, community manager at WB Games Avalanche said in a PlayStation Blog post.

“The show will run for about 20 minutes, featuring over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay captured on PS5, and concluding with some insight from a few members of the team at Avalanche Software who are bringing the Wizarding World to life.

“This is an incredible moment that we’ve been building towards for a long time. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.”

PlayStation says more information will be available on the blog post once the broadcast is over to add “a little more context” to what WB is showing. Rumors surrounding a Hogwarts Legacy State of Play have been swirling for months. The game was initially revealed on the PlayStation stage with the PS5 showcase in September 2020 – so continuing that marketing relationship was expected.

A possibility for this State of Play is a release date for Hogwarts Legacy. Currently, it has a ‘2022’ release date, after initially being expected last year. A book called ‘The Art And Making Of Hogwarts Legacy‘ — a companion book to the RPG — is expected to launch on September 6 this year, so a September release date seems the most plausible.
