Capcom Fighting Collection Release Date Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium

Capcom Fighting Collection Release Date Announced for PS4, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Could Release Around the Same Day

Capcom has officially announced that the Capcom Fighting Collection release date will be June 24, 2022 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. In addition, it has announced that Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium will be releasing for the same platforms, confirming a classification rating in Korea which suggested that the original retro collection would receive a sequel.

When is the Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium release date?

The connection between the Capcom Fighting Collection release date and the Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium release date is a bit confusing. Capcom USA stated in a tweet (posted above) that Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium would be compiling 32 arcade classics together, without revealing which games those will be. The descriptive entry for the game on the South Korean classification board (taken down, at the time of this writing) reads that it “features various retro arcade games from the ’80s and ’90s developed by Capcom as a collection.”

That said, this collection will come with the 1984 arcade game SonSon for free. A complimentary tweet (posted above) by Capcom Europe then verified the release date for Capcom Fighting Collection to be June 24, revealing “a combo of bonuses” for pre-ordering. According to the game’s official description on Steam, these early-purchase bonuses will include bonus content in the game’s museum that includes 5 exclusive illustrations and 18 remixed music tracks.

But then the first tweet continued, saying that Capcom Fighting Collection would be getting Three Wonders for free, a 1991 mini arcade collection that combines Midnight Wanderers: Quest for the Chariot, Chariot: Adventure Through the Sky, and Don’t Pull.

While Capcom did not reveal the official Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium release date, looking through the Xbox backend listings (as spotted by @ALumia_Italia by a tweet) uncovers that the game looks to be releasing a few days earlier on July 22.

Since the Capcom Fighting Collection includes rollback netcode and five games from the Darkstalkers series, which hasn’t been touched by Capcom for quite a long time, some Capcom fans have actually been more excited about this collection than Street Fighter 6.

In other news, Sony has invested $1 billion in Epic Games specifically to build its vision for the metaverse, and Lords of the Fallen 2 will be releasing in 2023.
