New Star Wars Game in the Works from Skydance and Amy Hennig

Amy Hennig is back at work on a Star Wars game, this time at Skydance New Media, the studio she founded in 2019. Today, Lucasfilm Games and Skydance announced that a new title was in the works and not much else. Hennig previously worked as a writer and creative director on another Star Wars game, Project Ragtag, at Visceral Games, which was unfortunately canceled in 2017.

What’s the new Skydance Star Wars game about?

Unfortunately, no story details for Skydance’s Star Wars game have been released. We know it’s a “richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story in the legendary Star Wars galaxy,” and that’s it. However, we can make some suppositions based on Project Ragtag.

Project Ragtag was a linear adventure set after Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It would have been a heist story that followed an original cast, and the very small snippet of the game we got to see in EA’s E3 2016 Star Wars trailer showed a scene on Tattooine. However, despite it being in development for around four years, we know almost nothing about the game.

So, while Hennig could choose to go in a completely different direction for the Skydance Star Wars game, I wouldn’t be surprised to see shadows of Project Ragtag in it. All reports indicate that it was something that Hennig was passionate about, and it’d be natural to want to see it live on in some form. I’m just hoping for Uncharted in the Star Wars universe because that sounds awesome.

With no title or release date announced, we’d bet we’ll be waiting a few years to see Skydance’s title come to fruition. Fingers crossed that it’s worth the wait.

In other news, more bangers are coming for PlayStation other than God of War in 2022, and Fia’s underwear is causing players to get banned in Elden Ring.
