GreedFall 2: The Dying World has been announced by developer Spiders. Despite the game’s name, the RPG’s story is set before the events of GreedFall and features a new protagonist and new tactical combat gameplay. The game will be arriving for consoles and PC but don’t expect to see it anytime soon as its release window is 2024.
What we know about GreedFall 2
GreedFall 2: The Dying World is set three years before the events of GreedFall. This time players will not assume the role of De Sardet, this time playing as a native of Teer Fradee. Colonists capture you and take you to the continent of Gacane, a world already ravaged by war and the Malichor plague. Your aim is to gain your freedom by making friends and choosing between diplomacy, cunning, or combat. At the same time, another man’s ambitions of conquest must be ended if Teer Fradee and its continent are to maintain their independence. The RPG will focus on story and player choice but combat has been altered to take on a more tactical touch.
Spiders’ Founder and Director Jehanne Rousseau explained why the team was heading back into the world of GreedFall:
While we were working on Steelrising, our love of the GreedFall universe never faded, and so we are thrilled to be returning to it. In this new chapter, players will explore the old continent with its bigger and more diverse environments. They will meet new companions and new factions, and I hope they will have unforgettable adventures.
GreedFall 2 will be released on unspecified consoles and PC in 2024.
In other news, Sony has forged a deal with Ubisoft for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, suggesting PS5 players may be getting exclusive content. Elsewhere, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been canceled for PS4 and the PS5 version has been delayed.
