Valkyrie Elysium finally has a PS5 and PS4 release date for the end of September 2022, but those who can’t wait that long can pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition that offers three days of early access. At the same time, a digital port of the PSP game Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will also be released, potentially into PS Plus Premium too.
Valkyrie Elysium Digital Deluxe Edition contents
Valkyrie Elysium will be released on PS5 and PS4 on September 29, 2022, and will come in two versions: a standard edition (available digitally and at retail) and a Digital Deluxe Edition. The latter includes the “Svartaljr: Sword of the Goddess of the Underworld” in-game item and a copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, the first entry in the franchise that was only ever available on PSP. Those who purchase the title through the Playstation Store will receive both the PS5 and PS4 versions of the game. If purchasing the PS4 version at retail, players can upgrade to the PS5 version at no extra cost but must put their disc into the console every time they wish to play the PS5 version, making the upgrade impossible for those who will go on to buy digital-only PS5 consoles.
The pre-order bonuses are a little confusing as they depend on which edition you purchase. Those who pre-order the standard edition of the game at retail will get a Valkyrie Elysium avatar. The “Alscir: Sword of the God of Light” in-game item is available for those who pre-order the standard edition on the Playstation Store. Finally, those who pre-order the Valkyrie Elysium Digital Deluxe Edition will get 72 hours of early access to the game starting on September 26 as well as the “Alscir: Sword of the God of Light” in-game item.
In other news, The Crew 2 received a 60 FPS upgrade on PS5 today. Elsewhere, the Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 Experience will be delisted from the PlayStation Store later this week.
