Ghost of Tsushima’s PS4 release earned a metascore of 83/100 based on 122 critic reviews but it received universal acclaim from players around the globe. Both critics and users unanimously agreed that the game’s quality set the bar high for new first-party IPs. Sucker Punch Productions continued to make improvements to the game, releasing an even better quality of product with Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, which earned a metascore of 87/100 on the PS5 based on 73 critic reviews. It’s no surprise, then, that we’ve seen hints of a sequel in multiple job descriptions published by the studio.
Other interesting stats revealed include:
- 78 million photos taken
- 75.18 million foxes pet
- 91.4 million Legends mode missions played
- 998.5 million standoffs
- 540.8 million duels
- 94.76 million onsen visited
- Players spent 6437.4 years on horseback
As for what’s next, Sucker Punch Productions is keeping tight-lipped but we expect the announcement of a sequel in due course. In the meantime, a Ghost of Tsushima movie adaption is in the works.
In other news, God of War Ragnarok’s Jotnar Edition sold out within minutes of going live for pre-orders, and Sony’s acquisition of Bungie is now complete.
