multiversus season 1 delayed

MultiVersus Season 1 Delayed Along With New Character Morty

While MultiVersus has been taking the fighting scene by storm during its beta and full release, it’s still technically in a “pre-season” phase. This was set to end on August 9, with the release of a new Battle Pass, Morty character addition, and a Ranked Mode. However, it’s now been confirmed that Multiversus Season 1 will be delayed.

MultiVersus’ first season delayed “to a later date”

MultiVersus Season 1 has been delayed, developer Player First Games announced in a series of tweets posted to the game’s official Twitter account.

What started out as a “thank you” to the community quickly turned into a delay announcement for both Season 1 and the upcoming Morty character. No reason was given for the delay, only that the team wants to “assure [their] community that [they] are dedicated to delivering new and exciting content that delights players.”

As for the new Multiversus Season 1 release date, the developer didn’t share a concrete date, only that it will “let [players] know the timing as soon as [it] can.”

On the bright side, for those who haven’t yet completed the pre-season Battle Pass, the Season 1 delay has resulted in the end of the pre-season being extended through August 15. That gives players an extra week to get it completed.

It’s not clear if the upcoming ranked mode, which was scheduled to be released alongside Season 1, will also be delayed. However, the developer didn’t include it as part of its tweets, so perhaps it is still ready for the August 9 launch.

With Season 1 expected to launch on August 9, it being delayed just a few days before will no doubt be devastating to the many enthusiasts who have already spent countless hours mastering combos as Bugs Bunny, Iron Giant, and the many other WB characters. Here’s hoping the new release date is revealed sooner rather than later!
