Assassin's Creed Mirage Release Window

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Release Window Announced at Ubisoft Forward 2022

The debut trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage has finally uncloaked itself and has a current release window of 2023, as revealed at the Ubisoft Forward September 2022 presentation which aired earlier today. Announced as part of the special Assassin’s Creed showcase of the event and timed with the 15th anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, the trailer confirms numerous reports and leaks, including the main character Basim Ibn Ishaq as a young man and the game’s plot focusing on his origin story within Baghdad. Sarah Beaulieu, the narrative director at Ubisoft Bordeaux, confirms that the game will “go back to the roots of the series.”

What the Assassin’s Creed Mirage debut trailer reveals

The trailer asks questions posed to Basim during his initiation, reminding him that becoming an Assassin requires a lot of sacrifice. We see him as a lowly thief who misses his jump toward a log post embedded in a wall but who is swiftly saved by an Assassin. It’s not soon long after that he fiercely trains to become a member of the Brotherhood. It also looks like the eagle is back and that Basim will be going after leaders with gold masks tucked within their clothing.

Beaulieu also ensures that Mirage will focus on stealth and parkour, which are hallmarks of the original Assassin’s Creed games, as opposed to the more open-world AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla. The story takes place 20 years before the events in Valhalla and will include Basim’s mentor Roshan, who is played by Emmy-winning actress Shohreh Aghdashloo, as well as historical figures within the time period.

Pre-ordering the game now will get you the exclusive 40 Thieves side quest and a Collector’s Case featuring a statue of Basim is also available for pre-order.

In other news, The Divison Heartland was also finally revealed at Ubisoft Forward 2022, and the new Iron Man game by EA that was rumored to be revealed at the Disney & Marvel 2022 showcase yesterday never materialized.
