Amid a war of words with Microsoft over potential Call of Duty exclusivity post Activision merger, Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled Modern Warfare 2 PS5 and PS4 exclusive content. Those who pre-order the game on Sony’s consoles will receive the Oni Operator Pack alongside early access to the beta. The Oni Operator Pack can be used in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PS5, PS4 exclusive content details and pre-order benefits
The Oni Operator Pack can be obtained by pre-ordering a digital copy of Modern Warfare 2 on PS5 or PS4. It includes operator Hiro “Oni” Watanabe, and an exclusive Weapon Blueprint for use in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. The operator is official described as a “warrior and gun-for-hire who descended from a centuries-old samurai clan.” “Torn between country and family, he honors the code of the samurai while fighting to clear his disgraced family name,” Sony wrote on the PS Blog.
The first Modern Warfare 2 beta has kicked off today on PS5 and PS4 for those who pre-ordered the game. From September 18 to 20, all PS5 and PS4 players, including those who didn’t pre-order, can partake in the beta. The second multiplayer beta doesn’t require anyone to pre-order Modern Warfare 2. It’ll begin on September 22 at 10 AM PT, and will end on September 26.
Those who pre-order any edition of Modern Warfare 2 digitally will get the following pre-order benefits:
- Early Open Beta access
- Immediate access to the Final Judgement Bundle and Khaled Al Asad Operator Bundle for use in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone.
- Immediate access to the Ghost Legacy Pack for use in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Those who pre-order the Vault edition will receive the following rewards in addition to the above:
- Red Team 141: Four playable Multiplayer Operators — Ghost, Farah, Price, and Soap — available during the Open Beta.
