God of War Ragnarok will finally be arriving on PS4 and PS5 on November 9, but players had been wondering if they would be able to preload the game ahead of that date, especially if the rumored 90 GB size of the PS4 version is true. Well, it appears the game will have a preload period according to another leak from the PlayStation Store and we might even have a date for it.
When is the God of War Ragnarok Preload Date?
God of War Ragnarok preloads are expected to begin on November 2 on PS4 and PS5 according to the PlayStation Store, as captured in a screenshot by Twisted Voxel. You can even check this out if you’ve already pre-ordered the game through the PlayStation Store. Just head to your game library on PS5 or PS4. In the Your Collection part of the library, click on the God of War Ragnarok icon and select the launch date counter to see exactly how long you’ll have to wait to preload the game.
Sony has also created a blue and white God of War Ragnarok PS5 DualSense controller that will be released on the same day as the game. Pre-orders of the controller went live earlier this week and will cost $74.99 from the PlayStation Direct store. Free launch day delivery is available so players can begin their latest journey with Kratos and Atreus with a matching controller. Unfortunately, there is no limited edition PS5 console or even a God of War Ragnarok console bundle to go with it.
In other news, Sony is collaborating with Jetpack Interactive to develop a cross-platform AAA live service game based on one of the former’s “prized” IPs. Elsewhere, once touted as PS5’s cloud gaming competitor, Google has announced its Google Stadia streaming service will be shutting its servers in January.
