Sonic Frontiers hasn’t even made it to retailers yet, but Sega is already announcing free post-launch DLC for the game in the form of a Monster Hunter collaboration. The DLC will include costumes and a mini-game to make Sonic stronger. Players will be able to get their hands on the DLC next month.
The Sonic Frontiers x Monster Hunter DLC release date
The Monster Hunter collaboration DLC will be released at 5 PM PT on November 14, just a week after the game launches on November 8. The free DLC will include two costumes for Sonic: the Rathalos Armor and the Felyne Rathalos Armor. There will also be a grilled meat set, and using the set to complete a mini-game (where Sonic will unsurprisingly grill meat) will make him stronger. The collaboration shouldn’t be surprising given that Monster Hunter Rise got a Sonic collaboration DLC last November. This also included three costumes, one for the Hunter, one for the palico, and one for the palamute.
This is the first DLC to be announced for Sonic Frontiers and it’s unclear whether there will be any more costume sets or perhaps more substantial expansions. However, the game will already offer a substantial playtime with the open world taking 20-30 hours to complete on its own.
