Ubisoft has issued its annual reminder that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake hasn’t been cancelled. Apparently, fans keep quizzing the developer about the remake as well as other games in the series, and it wanted to put an end to those questions… for now. The Sands of Time remake currently doesn’t have a release date and cannot be pre-ordered.
No other remakes planned beyond Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Ubisoft also dashed hopes of any other remakes planned in the series. Additionally, it doesn’t look like the developer is considering a new entry altogether. A statement from the developer reads:
The Sands of Time Remake is not cancelled. The game is currently in development at Ubisoft Montréal. Beyond The Sands of Time there are currently no plans to remake any other Prince of Persia title. At the moment, a new release date has not been set, we will provide new information on that front when we are ready. Since the game currently does not have a release date, existing pre-orders have been cancelled and refunded where applicable.
