CD Projekt RED has reassured fans that The Witcher 3 PS5 update (or next-gen edition update) is coming soon after they expressed concerns over the studio’s silence. The game launched to quite a bit of fanfare but it wasn’t without its fair share of issues. CDPR promised an update but five weeks on, there’s no sign of it.
The Witcher 3 PS5 update is in the “final stages”
According to CDPR’s Global Community Director Marcin Momot, the studio has been “quietly” working on the update, which is now in “final stages.” He also thanked fans for their patience, but it appears that patience is wearing thin. Over on Reddit, PS5 players continue to complain about The Witcher 3’s next-gen version crashing and freezing on the console. PC players say that modders are doing more work to fix the game than the developers.
We’ve been quietly working on this update for W3NG and it looks like we’re at the final stages. Shouldn’t be long until it comes out. We’ll share more info the moment we can! In the meantime, we really appreciate your patience! https://t.co/QGWXHnDbPN

Starting January 26th, The Witcher 3 PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will appear physically on store shelves. Here’s hoping the patch accompanies the disc release.
