It’s been years since we’ve heard about Wolfenstein 3 after Bethesda’s Pete Hines emphatically stated that the publisher is “absolutely” making the game all the way back in September 2018. But now a new rumor that Wolfenstein 3 may be announced on the horizon has been sparked by the LinkedIn profile of Melissa Petrucci, a UI/UX designer for MachinesGames, which says that she worked on the upcoming Indiana Jones game as well as “another unannounced project.”
MachineGames’ Indiana Jones game release date is still unknown
The LinkedIn profile reveals that Petrucci worked for a little over a year at MachineGames before moving to Embark Studios to work on the new Arc Raiders game. During her stint at MachineGames, she worked on an Indiana Jones games and this unannounced project. Given that the developer hasn’t released much outside of Wolfenstein games, it’s reasonable to believe that this is indeed Wolfenstein 3. Wolfenstein: Youngblood came out in 2019, so that’s enough time for another game in the franchise to be released.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that the Indiana Jones game will not be an Xbox console exclusive. No release date has been announced for this game either, though it will likely coincide with the release of either the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny movie in 2023 or the Indiana Jones TV series by Lucasfilm on Disney Plus set for 2024 at the earliest.
In the case for both games, neither Wolfenstein 3 nor the Indiana Jones game were showcased at the Xbox Developer Direct livestream in late January, so it’s likely that we won’t see either one for quite some time.
