Lebron James, along with other music stars and sports icons, has been titled a PlayStation Playmaker. Eric Lempel, Senior VP at Sony Interactive Entertainment, has revealed the new PlayStation Playmaker program today, which will feature a group of passionate PlayStation fans in pop culture. Sony will partner with these celebrities and influencers on “an ongoing basis to celebrate their passion for gaming and PlayStation.”

As revealed in a new blog from SIE, Lebron James headlines a list of celebrities that have been named a PlayStation Playmaker:

- Jimmie Allen (country music star)
- King Bach (actor and comedian)
- Nigel Sylvester (BMX athlete)
- NaLyssa Smith (WNBA All-Star Rookie)
- Ja’Marr Chase (NFL star)
- CeeDee Lamb (NFL star)
- Liza Zimouche (French football freestyler)
- Romelu Lukaku (Belgian football star)
- Julio Cocielo (Brazilian content creator)
Sony plans to add more names to the list “from the worlds of gaming, sports, esports, and entertainment” and will reveal more information on PlayStation Playmakers on its social media channels. These celebrities will also provide early looks and behind-the-scenes access to games for fans.
Lampel explains that Sony announced this program today because it believes that 2023 will be an exciting year for PlayStation fans, particularly with the DualSense Edge controller and PSVR 2.
Lebron James along with his son, as well as Ben Stiller and John Travolta, were featured in an “All Parents Can Relate” trailer for God of War Ragnarok. He was also featured as the “King James” character for Fortnite in July 2021.
