God of War Ragnarok Is the Most BAFTA-Nominated Game Ever

God of War Ragnarok has a received a whopping 14 nominations at the BAFTA Games Awards 2023, breaking the record for the highest number of BAFTA nominations ever for a game. As for other PlayStation exclusives, Stray received eight nominations while Horizon Forbidden West nabbed five. Elden Ring, one of Ragnarok’s biggest competitors for Best Game, received a total of seven nominations. Last year, the most BAFTA-nominated game was Returnal with eight.

Most of the BAFTA nominations that God of War Ragnarok received are in acting roles, with Christopher Judge (Kratos) and Sunny Suljic (Atreus) headlining the nominations for Performer in a Leading Role. Here’s a quick list of all the categories that the game has been nominated for:

The BAFTA Game Awards 2023 is scheduled for Thursday, March 30, and will be livestreamed exclusively on BAFTA’s Twitch channel at 9:50 am PT / 12:50 ET / 6:50 BST. The full list of nominees can be found on BAFTA’s official website.

Games and esports host Frankie Ward will host the ceremony. Over 1,000 BAFTA games members and specialist juries voted for the nominations and winners.
