After Resident Evil 4 broke street date in several places, the list of trophies has leaked online and those wanting to go for the Platinum trophy seem to be facing at least three playthroughs. As well as trophies for completing the game on each difficulty, there’s also a speedrun trophy and some for completing the main story without using certain items.
Getting the Resident Evil 4 Remake Platinum trophy
The leaked trophy list will have players working their way through the game multiple times due to the opposing nature of some of the game’s trophies. The campaign will be available in three difficulties — Standard, Hardcore, and Professional — and there are trophies for completing the game on each difficulty. While the trophy descriptions suggest they will stack, there are also trophies for completing Standard and Hardcore modes with an S+ rank, meaning you’ll need perfect runs on those difficulties in addition to a Professional playthrough.
As well as the difficulty trophies, there’s one for completing the game in 8 hours or less. Then there are trophies for completing the game without using recover items, without talking to the merchant, and while only using a knife and a pistol (including battles against enemies like Chainsaw Man). The criteria for getting an S+ rank hasn’t been revealed, but only those that know Resident Evil 4 intimately are likely to be able to combine these trophies into fewer playthroughs. As such, most players are likely looking at more than three playthroughs.
