On April 28, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and 1, Battlefield 1943, and Mirror’s Edge will all be removed from digital storefronts, meaning players will no longer be able to buy them. Then, on December 8, online services for the game will shut down.
Bad Company 2 and 1, 1943, and Mirror’s Edge to be delisted and shut down
EA announced in a blog post titled “Battlefield Legacy – Sunsetting Announcement” that the four games would be delisted in April and have their online services shut down in December.

By the end of 2023, it won’t be possible to buy these games digitally and any online services won’t work.
For those interested in the single-player components of these games, there is good news. For Bad Company 2 and 1, as well as Mirror’s Edge, players can “continue playing them and use their respective offline features, such as the single-player campaign.”
While this will be disappointing news for many dedicated Battlefield and Mirror’s Edge fans, EA has at least provided a generous amount of time for players to have one last “Oorah” across the multiplayer servers.
For those on PS5 or PS4, the latest Battlefield game is currently available through PS Plus. While it’s no Bad Company 2, it has seen improvements implemented by recent patches. And no, 2042 is not shutting down despite the rumors.
