Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture developer The Chinese Room has shown two new gameplay scenes from its upcoming horror game Still Wakes the Deep.
Deep Dive
Still Wakes the Deep is set in 1975 and takes place on an oil rig in the North Sea where some strange force beyond our reality is terrorizing the crew, and you are their only hope for rescue.
There was also confirmation that the game will have a release window on PC and consoles in Early 2024, so we’re not too far off finding out what else is on that oil rig.
The first half of the video shows the protagonist precariously balancing themselves around the wrecked exterior of the oil rig as something range appears to be wrapped around a part of the structure.
In the second half, the protagonist navigates tight spaces in a waterlogged area as some mad screeching thing seems to be pursuing them the whole time.
After a disastrous and lengthy development, the Chinese Room also recently took up development duties on the long-awaited RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 from Hardsuit Labs.
