Ark: Survival Ascended PS5

ARK: Survival Ascended PS5 Release Date Set for Next Month

Studio Wildcard has revealed that ARK: Survival Ascended will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S next month. A specific release date is yet to be revealed, but at most, players will only have to wait another five weeks to get their hands on the game.

The launch trailer gives a first glimpse of ARK: Survival Ascended gameplay

ARK: Survival Ascended will give players access to all of the worlds currently found in Survival Evolved, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, ARK Genesis Part 1, and ARK Genesis Part 2. All of these have been remade in Unreal Engine 5 to enhance the game’s graphics and gameplay. The trailer released for today’s PC launch of the game gives a first glimpse of ARK: Survival Ascended gameplay in the new engine, although PS5 players will have to wait a little bit longer to try out the game for themselves.

The developer has also created a content roadmap that includes gameplay and quality-of-life changes, new DLC, seasonal events, and more. Details on this are also scarce right now, but players will also be able to create and download their own content thanks to cross-platform modding through the CurseForge platform.

The CurseForge mod browser will let players download mods from any platform, including new structures, dinos, maps, decorative pieces, and game modes. Studios like Skymap Games and Blue Isle Studios are also creating DLC-level premium mods and more details on these will be made available at a later date.

Players can make their own mods by downloading the new Ark Devkit from the Epic launcher. Old ARK mods can be ported to Survival Ascended, although some changes will need to be made for the new engine. In November, an official modding competition will offer prizes that total $350,000 for the most creative cross-platform mods, so it’s definitely time to get creative!
