Horizon Zero Dawn Now Inaccessible for a Large Number of PC Players

Sony is under fire once again as it has made Horizon Zero Dawn inaccessible to a large number of PC players. The company delisted the original game on Steam four years after it launched on the platform in anticipation of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. The upcoming title requires creating a PSN account, making it impossible for numerous players to even purchase the title.

Horizon Zero Dawn PC version won’t be listed in countries without PSN support

Since the 2020 release didn’t come with the PSN requirement, PC players around the world could purchase Horizon Zero Dawn. As per its policy, Sony is delisting the older versions to replace it with the new SKU, and with that comes the PSN requirement.

Sony’s games aren’t available to purchase on Steam in regions where PSN isn’t officially supported, which means players in those regions can neither purchase the original version of Horizon Zero Dawn anymore nor will they be able to purchase the remaster.

Although understandable, it’s a bit of a perplexing move that will only hurt sales. It’s unclear if Sony has any plans to expand PSN support to more countries, but at the moment, it seems highly unlikely that this situation will change for the foreseeable future.
