God of War Actor Dashes Hopes of New Game Announcement

Over the weekend, claims of an upcoming God of War reveal started brewing. Kratos actor Christopher Judge teased upcoming announcements leading to speculation this was about the beloved PlayStation franchise.

Well, it turns out it wasn’t — and that comes from Ghost of Sparta himself.

Kratos actor denies recent God of War rumors

Judge recently quote tweeted a post which claimed the actor teased multiple God of War announcements coming in the next two weeks. Unfortunately for fans of the series, he snuffed out any hope for an incoming reveal saying he’s waiting just like everyone else.

“Absolutely not true! You can’t tease something you know nothing about,” says Judge. “I will be making announcements in the near future, I can guarantee none of them will be about our beloved God of War. I am awaiting updates just like everyone else.”

So, what is Judge announcing if it is a “guarantee” it is not God of War related? Although Kratos is his most notable recent role, the actor has been in several other video games, movies, and TV shows over the years. This includes Marvel’s Avengers, World of Warcraft, and Stargate SG-1, so maybe it pertains to one of those projects. Maybe he’s part of a new video game that has not yet been announced, and that reveal is happening within the next few weeks. Judge will inevitably reveal these announcements, but until then, all we can do is speculate.

There has been recent speculation about a potential surprise Sony event due to a recent ad the company is running. However, notable games industry insiders bilbil-kun and Jeff Grubb have essentially dismissed a State of Play-like event taking place over the next couple of weeks. However, bilbil-kun claims there are announcements being prepared behind the scenes. This may include the new colorway for the DualSense Edge, Pulse Elite headset, and Pulse Explore earbuds.
