PS Plus Members Get Free Marvel Rivals DLC

In just a few days, PS5 players can enjoy NetEase Games‘ hero shooter Marvel Rivals, and PS Plus subscribers can claim a symbiote-themed bonus at no extra charge. There is also a free skin for one of Marvel’s most beloved characters available exclusively on Sony’s gaming platform.

PS5 players can receive free skins for Peni Parker and Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals

For those subscribed to PS Plus, the Peni Parker VEN#M suit pack is available to download. Along with the cosmetic based on the comics, the pack will include Season Pass tokens as well. Players not subscribed to the online service can purchase these items in-game.

Available for the wider PS5 audience is another exclusive cosmetic. Players can grab the Scarlet Spider skin for Spider-Man at no additional charge. For those wondering, it is based on the Kaine Parker Scarlet Spider with its black and red colorway. It is not based on the beloved hoody wearing Ben Reilly version of the character.

Marvel Rivals launches on December 6, 2024 for PS5. The free-to-play hero shooter features 33 characters, including Captain America, Wolverine, Hulk, Psylocke, Magneto, and Squirrel Girl. Every character will be unlocked right from the jump.

According to a PlayStation Blog post, Marvel Rivals for PS5 runs at a stable 60 frames per second at 1440p resolutions. It also utilizes Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen Global Illumination and Chaos Destruction technology. The game offers a High Frame Rate Mode that runs at 120 FPS, however, resolution targets are not specified. This mode can only be used with a compatible display.

Marvel Rivals is one of the many PS5 Pro enhanced games. The console’s more powerful GPU and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology allows the game to run at 60 FPS at 4K. This Pro Mode also features more immersive and dynamic lighting thanks to Lumen Global Illumination and Lumen Reflections. Its High Frame Rate Mode will also benefit as it offers higher resolutions in 120 FPS.
