PSVR 2 Sense controllers

PSVR 2 Sense Controllers Could Be Sold Separately Soon, Report Suggests

A new report claims that Apple approached Sony earlier this year to work together on support for PSVR 2 Sense controllers on Vision Pro. According to Bloomberg, Sony agreed, and the project has quietly been in the works for months now, leading to speculations that the controllers will finally be sold separately soon.

Why PSVR 2 Sense controllers aren’t sold separately is a million dollar question

When Sony announced the PSVR 2, it almost seemed like the company had little intention to actually sell the headset. From its lack of backwards compatibility with PSVR 1’s library to its controllers not being sold separately, the PSVR 2 was off to a rough start. While Sony attempted to explain the lack of backwards compatibility, it beggars belief that the company decided not to produce standalone Sense controllers even in small quantities.

Per Bloomberg, Apple and Sony were going to announce Sense controller support for Vision Pro weeks ago, but the announcement was delayed for unknown reasons. The publication reckons that there’s a chance the idea might get scrapped entirely.

If the project comes to fruition, Sense controllers are expected to be sold via Apple’s stores. They may not be widely available via other retailers, but we can’t imagine not seeing them appear on PS Direct.

Then again, Sony makes some pretty inexplicable decisions, so you never know.
