GTA 6 PS Store

GTA VI Can Now Be Wishlisted on PS Store But There’s a Catch

Players were surprised to find GTA 6’s PS Store page over the weekend, with the ability to wishlist the game. As spotted by a fan, developer Violarte sp. z o. o. has announced Grand Taking Ages VI, which will apparently launch just in time for the PS6.

GTA 6 PS Store page perfectly illustrates an ongoing issue with Sony’s storefront

Now that we have everyone’s attention, the PS Store page in question is very much real, and is still up at the time of this writing. Evidently intended to mock the real GTA 6‘s announcement and lack of updates since, we don’t expect this “game” to actually launch, and even if it does, Take-Two’s litigious legal department will have it nuked in no time.

All of this highlights an issue that players continue to complain about: shovelware on the PS Store. The problem has become worse over the years, and we’ve gotten to a point where the sections dedicated to new releases and demos are often clogged by these games, making it difficult for players to see what’s actually new.

That this page slipped past Sony and went live on the PS Store explains why low-effort asset flips smack us in the face every time we go online shopping. As I’ve often said before, I feel sorry for indie developers who struggle for visibility on the PS Store, especially since Sony has shown little desire to fix its shovelware problem.
