Microsoft held Xbox Developer Direct 2025 yesterday, which included a few PS5 announcements and trailers. Players were also treated to a surprise return of a beloved franchise, complete with a shadow drop! In case you missed it, we’ve got you covered right here.
Xbox Developer Direct 2025: All PS5 news
- Team Ninja and PlatinumGames surprised fans with the announcement of Ninja Gaiden 4 — the first new game in the series in more than 10 years. The game will release in Fall 2025, and will star a new character.
- Speaking of surprises, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is now available on the PS5 via the PS Store for $49.99. The game is PS5 Pro Enhanced, and also supports game streaming via PS Plus Premium.
- Doom: The Dark Ages will release on May 15, 2025. A prequel to Doom and Doom Eternal, the game has dropped multiplayer in favor of a rich single-player experience on current-gen platforms including the PS5.
- Upcoming role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will release on April 24, 2025. It’s a turn-based RPG for current-gen platforms that’s inspired by series like Final Fantasy and Persona. According to the game’s PS Store page, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro.
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows got a new story trailer.
