Naughty Dog, creators of the beloved Jak and Daxter franchise and the critically and commercially acclaimed Uncharted series are looking for someone to join the team. But they haven’t announced any upcoming games! Maybe these requirements will give us a sneak peak.
According to Naughty Dog’s own website, the developer is looking for several new positions, some of which are a game designer and another character artist. Responsibilities for the designer include things such as:
- Responsible for the planning, level layout, setup and tuning of single-player levels, from high concept to object placement and scripting
- Responsible for designing and producing engaging and fun third-person action gameplay and levels
The character artist needs to be able to do things like:
- Create clean, deformable and efficient models, extract normal maps from high-res versions and sculpt morph targets for use within a Maya/ZBrush pipeline
- Must have an advanced knowledge of human anatomy
Single player levels for fun third-person gameplay with human anatomy? If that doesn’t sound like an Uncharted 3 to you, I don’t know what it is. While it’s not a surprise that Naughty Dog is working on a follow-up to their award-winning sequel, it’s exciting to know that development finally underway. When the official announcement comes, you’ll be sure to hear of it first from PlayStation LifeStyle.
