LittleBigPlanet Vita Gets a Friendly Touch

The biggest news to come out of Sony’s E3 show was the PlayStation Vita. Not only was the hardware impressive, but there were some great game titles announced for the handheld. Among them, LittleBigPlanet for Vita seemed to stand out for gamers watching the press conference.

LittleBigPlanet Vita is going to be developed by Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven. Tarsier Studios has worked on LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2 DLC, so they are familiar with the franchise. Double Eleven has been making handheld and smart phone games since 2010. They were the developing team that worked with Rockstar Leeds to bring the Grand Theft Auto franchise to the iPhone and Nintendo DS.

A trailer for the game has also been released to show off some of its features. LittleBigPlanet Vita will have tilt sensitivity, front and rear-touch functionality, access to the same creation tools as LittleBigPlanet 2, and multiplayer. The multiplayer will feature the traditional level completion mode, as well as additional modes for mini-games such as pass n’ play. Continuing Sony’s theme of PS3/Vita connectivity, LittleBigPlanet Vita will also allow users to access and share costumes from the PS3 version of LittleBigPlanet 2. Check out the trailer below for all the adorable, Sackboy footage.
