EA has been perusing through their vast back catalogue of games, and could be bringing back at least a couple of classic franchises according to EA Labels president Frank Gibeau. Reflecting on 25 years of past glory, he revealed some intriguing hints that should have fans excited.
Speaking on the topic of revivals in Cologne, Gibeau told CVG:
We’ve got 25 years of good IPs and I’ve worked on a few of them in my career like Road Rash and the Strike series. So I have a strong affinity for a lot of the things we’ve done in the past.
He continued:
We kind of have a rule which is you’ve got to have a really good reason to bring something back – What can you do to it that makes it fresh and brings something new to the equation of the franchise?
A Road Rash revival was reported to be in production a few years back, but never saw the light of day. Rumors have also been circulating that EA is set to resurrect their cyberpunk thriller Syndicate.
