3D Netflix Streaming En Route to PS3?

The PlayStation 3 is the pinnacle of 3D entertainment in the home. Not only does it play 3D games, but allows for viewing of 3D images and 3D Blu-ray disc playback. And soon, 3D Netflix streaming could be added to the ever-growing list of available 3D content on the PS3.

According to “Simply G” over at Gamerexchange, he stumbled across what he calls a glitch while booting up Netflix on his PS3. Keanu Reeves was nowhere in sight, but a previously unseen icon showing an option for “3D” was discovered.

Simply G apologizes for Mr. Blurrycam pics, and claims that Netflix was stuck in this boot loop until he exited and restarted. And presumably, this option had disappeared afterward.

The likely scenario here, is that 3D streaming was being tested internally, but was added to the public service by accident. Simply G was simply in the right place at the right time, and got to bear witness to the future. Ain’t nothing but a Simply G thang… baby.
