The Catch-Up: August 19th, 2013 – Saints Row IV Patch 1.01 Out, The Order: 1886 Skipping gamescom 2013

Tomorrow sees both the EA and Sony Press Conferences at gamescom 2013, so get plenty of rest as it’s sure to be an exciting day.

General News

  • When you go to put your copy of Saints Row IV into your PS3 (or boot up your downloaded copy), you’ll be prompted to download patch 1.01, which takes up 317MB. [Via]
  • One PlayStation 4 game we know that’s skipping gamescom 2013 is The Order: 1886, with the Sony Santa Monica Twitter account saying, “Most you may see is likely the same trailer from E3 mixed in a #PS4 promo trailer, we’re dark for now.” [Via/Twitter]
  • Dakko Dakko has announced that their PlayStation Vita titles, The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character and Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD!, will come to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina on August 27th for $2.99 and $3.49, respectively.   • Spelunky on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita will be coming to Europe on August 28th, one day after the North American version. [Twitter]
  • Sony Santa Monica is targeting the release of patch 1.11 for God of War: Ascension later this week. [Source]
  • Metrico on the PlayStation Vita is planned to arrive in the first half of 2014, possibly in the first quarter. [Source]

  • Bandfuse: Rock Legends releases for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 19th. The $69.99 Artist Pack includes the game and a 1/4” to USB guitar cable, the $79.99 Band Pack includes two guitar cables, a microphone, multi-port instrument hub, and an acoustic guitar adapter, while the Guitar Bundle includes the game, guitar cable, and authentic Fender Squier guitar (price is TBA).   • System and release details are scarce, but Ubisoft’s Child of Light was briefly shown off at GDC Europe, showing that it is being devloped on the Ubi-Art Framework tech used in the Rayman games. This downloadable, side-scrolling game with JRPG-inspired turn-based battles should be officially unveiled soon. [Source]
