Following an announcement back in May, Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero developer, Neversoft, officially closed its doors today to merge with Infinity Ward.
The entire team was handed out Neversoft swords as a gift from the studio’s co-founder, Joel Jewett. Employees also set fire to their skewed eye logo before leaving.
There are some varying reports regarding the team now focusing on the Call of Duty franchise, with some stating that they’ve already begun work on a future CoD title. Worth noting that this year’s game, Advanced Warfare, is being handled by Sledgehammer Games and with Activision opting for a three-year development cycle, Treyarch is still with the franchise as well.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (2010) was the last title that came out of Neversoft. We wish everyone the best of luck.
