When we first reported that Assassin’s Creed: Rogue for the PlayStation 3 will not have multiplayer, we got a mix of responses. Some said that it was an unnecessary addition while others said that they preferred to have multiplayer as an option. For the latter, we’ve got a glimmer of hope.
Speaking to IGN, an Ubisoft spokesperson has said that there are no plans for multiplayer “at this stage,” but did not comment on whether the developer would add it after the game’s launch or not. It could be that Ubisoft is currently gauging reaction and may just go ahead with it should fans demand it enough.
We’ll hear more details about the title at Gamescom 2014, which starts this week.
