Final Fantasy Type-0 HD director Hajime Tabata has explained that the game’s story actually stemmed from his love of history.
In a recent interview with Siliconera, Tabata talked about how loves history. He originally wanted Type-0 to have more historical elements in it, but ultimately ended up putting in more elements of the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology.
I personally love history and I really wanted to create something that involved real history, but to include some modern evaluations into the storyline and express it in that light. I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted to do with, but it was kind of like a child-run in essence
Tabata then went on to talk about how his love for history started when he was just a child, as his father was a history teacher and “always had history books lying around at home.” He explained that he has a particular fondness for the American Civil War, and would love to see that “make its way into the game.” Whether or not it will remains to be seen.
Would you like to see real historical elements in Final Fantasy Type-0 HD?
