As revealed in the beta announcement post today and hinted at by the PlayStation Store, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is going to require a lot of hard drive space on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the client sitting at 50GB and a day one update running another 15GB.
The team discussed why Tamriel Unlimited requires so much space:
ESOTU is an incredibly massive game, both in terms of sheer scope and the data required to bring you this truly enormous experience. At the moment, the client will exceed a 50GB Blu-ray disc which means there will also be a large day-one patch that is somewhere in the region of 15GB.
Since The Elder Scrolls Online is an online-only title, if you buy the retail version of the game, you’ll need to download that extra 15GB before playing. If you purchase the digital version, it’ll be at least a 65GB download.
Ahead of its launch on June 9, you can pre-order The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited on the North American PlayStation Store (PlayStation Plus members save 10%), with European pre-order set to go live soon.
As a reminder, the game won’t require a monthly subscription fee.
