Yesterday , we learned from PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan that Sony was taking a different path than Microsoft and wouldn’t be bringing backwards compatibility to the PlayStation 4.
In an interview with Polygon, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida also talked about backwards compatibility, saying, “I don’t think we will change our approach. The PlayStation 4 doesn’t have backward compatibility.”
As for why Sony doesn’t want to add backwards compatibility on PS4, Shuhei mentioned there’s still a chance it could happen, but it isn’t easy:
Backward compatibility is hard. I won’t say we’ll never do it, but it’s not an easy thing to do.
If it was easy we would have done that.
Instead of adding backwards compatibility, Sony is committed to delivering new features and services, including the recently launched media player , as well as PlayStation Now:
PlayStation Now works surprisingly well. But the primary purpose of that project was to create a new network service that could be used to bring PlayStation games to multiple devices including non-PlayStation devices, like Sony and Samsung televisions.
Do you think backwards compatibility will ever be added to PS4?

EA E3 Presser That Droned On...
We get it. Not every E3 press conference can be about megatons, surprises and whatnot, but seriously, EA?
After starting with an amazing Mass Effect: Andromeda reveal trailer . the publisher then went into full on "WTF" mode. It shoved down its sports games down our throats, used football great Pele in a not-so-good way, and THEN talked about mobile games.
Seriously, it's enough to make anyone scratch their heads.
EA might know about it, too, as it stowed its Star Wars Battlefront gameplay reveal trailer at the very end (just after the Mirror's Edge Catalyst reveal ) just to make sure the audience stuck around.
EA, please don't do this again next year...please!
Call of Duty Has a New Mistress and Her Name is PlayStation
Ever since the Call of Duty franchise got super big, it's become synonymous with the Xbox brand.
Map packs were always available on Microsoft's console first, gameplay footage was always revealed during Microsoft's presser, every system used when the game was shown to the public was an Xbox, and so on.
Well, that changed today. Now, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's multiplayer was revealed during Sony's E3 presser. Map packs will be available on PlayStation platforms first, too.

This is a full blown remake playable first on the PS4.
Now prepare for the"it's not as good as before" or "this sucks, I didn't know" complaints to flood in once it does finally see release.
Either that or it kickstarts the JRPG genre back to life.
Horizon Proves Guerilla is Ready to Move on From Killzone

And you know what? If this trailer for Horizon is any indication, they're on the right track.

Now, where's that release date, Guerilla?
