Developer Aquaplus is showing off upcoming Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen (the latter part could be “fake mask,” or “imaginary mask” or “false mask” or a number of different words that kinda mean the same thing) for Vita, PS3, and PS4. Due out in Japan on Sept. 24, it’s of course not yet announced for foreign localizations (too early for that), but we do have a bunch of screens and art, including shots of the different boxes and special goodies.
Originally called Utawarerumono 2, this game the second game in a trilogy, and the third part is already in early production stages. It’s a listed as a “simulation RPG,” which is was Japan calls its tactical RPGs. You’ll find Fire Emblem, Disgaea, and Final Fantasy Tactics as part of this RPG subgenre.
Its regular editions look for a retail price of 6,800 yen, or 9,800 for the premium editions. The latter comes with a soundtrack CD, special packaging, and DLC costumes shown within the above gallery. As well, they’ll include codes for some ToHeart2 characters to become playable.
We’ll conclude with the opening movie:
Watch for more news and media as we get closer to launch. Hey, maybe this’ll be playable at TGS?
