Transformers: Devastation was just released, but expect more content set inside the game’s universe over the next few years.
According to Activision, Transformers: Devastation actually acts as a prequel to a larger story, one that will span video games, toys, comic books, and more. In a statement to Eurogamer, Activision explained that the game “dovetails with the expanded Combiner War story arc.”
Activision’s Transformers: Devastation console title presents a game specific prequel story that dovetails with the expanded Combiner War story arc told in the IDW comic book series. As the Transformers story and franchise continue to evolve, Activision will continue to collaborate closely with Hasbro in exploring where to take the Transformers video game franchise.
