According to a report from French site Gameblog, Injustice 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and is scheduled for release in May 2017.
Gameblog’s sources add that Injustice 2 will be announced either at E3 2016 in mid-June or a few days prior to the event, NetherRealm Studios will return as the developer, and it will run on the Mortal Kombat X engine.
Warner Bros and NetherRealm have yet to make any announcements about Injustice 2 yet, but Ed Boon has enjoyed teasing fans in the past:

Injustice: Gods Among Us first released in April 2013, before getting an Ultimate Edition later in the year that brought the game to other platforms, including PS4 and Xbox One.
