During a presentation for investors yesterday, CD Projekt Red President and Joint CEO Adam Kiciński announced that The Witcher 3 would be getting a 4K update for the PlayStation 4 Pro console in just a few days.
According to Kiciński, interest in The Witcher 3 hasn’t died down yet, and he feels the game “is not getting old” and is still “selling phenomenally well”. he added that the 4K update will be out for the PS4 Pro in “a few days”, with an update headed to the Xbox One X “by the end of the year”, which would coincide with the systems launch.
With the news this week that The Witcher 3 is still very much making CD Projekt Red money, it’s not surprising to see a 4K update in the works. It’ll keep the game fresh and open it up to a semi-brand new audience.
In case you’ve somehow missed out on The Witcher 3, make sure to check out Chandler Wood’s review of the game:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is truly an incredible masterpiece. The writing and building of the world alone should be lauded as some of the best in video games. Stories weave in and out of one another surprisingly. The consequences of every decision are far reaching and unpredictable while also making complete sense once they happen. The world is organic, dangerous, and fun to explore. There is a true sense of reward and accomplishment. While minor design choices keep it from being absolutely perfect, The Witcher 3 will go down as one of the best games of this generation of consoles.
