Every month PlayStation Plus subscribers gain access to six games for free. It’s an incredible value, and sometimes some absolute gems are being given away. Other times, they’ll be titles that most owners have never heard of before let alone thought about playing. Thankfully, we know a thing or two about PlayStation games, and we’re willing to help out.
In order to make sure that you know your October PS Plus games, we’ve put together an article that’ll give you the 411 on all six games. We’ll tell you whether or not a game is worth your time, and link to our review (if we have one) so you can do some additional reading. That way you can better decide which titles to check out, and which ones to pass over. After all, while these games might be free, your time is equally important.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Platforms: PS4
Should You Play It?
Hell yes. Metal Gear Solid V was the best reviewed game of 2015, and is one of the PS4's best titles. Even if you're not a fan of stealth games, the action is so tight that you'll get invested in the gameplay. It's the pinnacle of stealth action.
-
Amnesia: Collection
Platforms: PS4
Should You Play It?
Amnesia: Collection features some of the best independent horror games created in the past decade. They're full of scares, so as long as you don't mind having some nightmares afterwards, you should give it a play.
-
Hustle Kings
Platforms: PS3
Should You Play It?
There are better versions of Hustle Kings on other platforms (like PS4), but this is still a solid billiards title. If you've got a hankering for it then go for it!
-
Monster Jam Battlegrounds
Platforms: PS3
Should You Play It?
This is easily the worst game on offer this month. If you really like monster trucks then maybe you'll have some fun, but otherwise it's not worth booting up the PlayStation 3 for.
-
Hue
Platforms: Vita, PS4
Should You Play It?
Absolutely. Hue is a delightful puzzle-platformer that plays with color (and is colorblind friendly). It's challenging, doesn't drag on for too long, and guarantees a good time.
-
Sky Force Anniversary
Platforms: Vita, PS4
Should You Play It?
Sure. While not the best shoot-em-up, Sky Force Anniversary is still a solid title. Since it's free, give it a try, and see if you get hooked.
