With E3 right around the corner we here at PlaystationLifestyle.net wanted to give you a look at the authors here on the site. Since we are gamers bringing you the E3 news you want to hear, we wanted to let you know the gamers behind the coverage. This is our way of showing you who we are, and where we come from. This is BigPete7978 here from PlaystationLifestyle. I figured I would let all you guys know a little bit about me. I am 23 years old and was born and raised in Houston, TX. Love everything about Houston except the traffic and heat. I grew up working with my dad’s electrical company so I know about having to work hard for things that you want. He made me work hard and didn’t give me anything easy just because I was his son. A lot of the time I had the hardest stuff because he didn’t want to do it himself. I have the upmost respect for people that make their livings off of physical labor. I grew up playing football. Blew my knee out in high school and never had surgery. Continued to play on it till I was in college when it completely gave out while playing here at SFASU. So now I am currently a just a full time student enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State University trying to finish up my degree. I will be graduating in May 2009. I’m a Kinesiology major with all level Teacher Certification and a minor in Special Education. I’m also a bouncer at Hush nightclub whenever I am back in Houston.
I am especially close to my friends and family, and would do anything for them. They mean the world to me. I am part of a family of 4. My father, mother, and younger sister. I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend for the past 4 years. She means the world to me and is probably one of the most understanding people that I know.
I have been gaming since I was 5 years old. My first console was the SNES, and I got it for Christmas one year. My console ownership has gone in this order: SNES, GameGear, PS1, GBA, PS2, PSP, PS3, 360. My favorite series of all time is actually Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy. My favorite games of all time are FFVII, FFVIII, MGS3, Lost Odyssey, and MGS4. I’m your typical gamer. I love all kinds of games, as long as they are fun to play. I am not like a lot of todays gamers where emphasis is placed on graphics alone. I feel that storyline and gameplay are the most important when it comes to a videogame. The genres that I probably enjoy the most are probably RPG, Sports, and Action/Adventure.
How did I get started with PlaystationLifestyle? Well I was actually starting up my own blog and saw how much success Sev was getting. I PM’ed him on the official PS Forums and congratulated him and asked what he had been doing to get that much success. He told me a couple things. Then he said that he had seen me around before and offered me an offer I couldn’t refuse. The rest is history. I became apart of a staff that is more than just that, they are my friends. I also started up the PSLS Forums and reside mostly there and post a story here or there on the blog every now and then.
Also when it comes to videogames I honestly feel I bring an open mind to people. There are so many fanboys that are out there nowadays that it is ridiculous. All consoles have their positives and negatives. But they all have a market of some sort. If they didn’t they wouldn’t be on the market. That is what I would like to bring to PlaystationLifestyle, an open mind. Thank you all for making this site what it is today. Hello everyone. It’s me, Chris Rah Osiris. Considering the amount of time that we all spend here on the site and the forums, it looked like it was about time that you all got to know me better. I’m a 22 year old Cali native. Currently residing in the nation’s capitol. I was born into a family where the dreams are big, but they don’t always quite pan out. So I made it my goal in life to accomplish my goals and achieve my dreams. Now I’ve completed 2 degrees and am currently 2 years from having my JD.
I’ve been gaming since I was about 3. First game that I ever played was Super Mario Bros. Loved that game, but hated Super Mario Bros. 2. Super Mario Bros 3, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, and Double Dragon sealed my fate as a gamer. I couldn’t put the controller down after that. When the SNES was released, my grandmother purchased it for us. Super Mario World is still my favorite Mario game of all time. The SNES eventually had to split its time with my Sega. Sonic 2 was my staple for a while. My parents didn’t let me play violent games, so my gaming library was limited for a while. Things obviously changed as I got older.
When the next generation of consoles arrived, my parents refused to make the leap. They didn’t want to have buy another library of games again, so it looked like my gaming days were over. My cousin had the N64, but I hated the controller and ultimately decided against Nintendo because of it. Fortunately for me Christmas came one year and I was given enough money to buy a PSX. That was the best gaming decision that I had ever made. Fighting Force, Suikoden, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Breath of Fire 3 meant no turning back for me. I was in love. Mix that with my anger with Nintendo and Sega’s repeated attempts at failure, you get me today.
I only own Sony consoles. I have the PS3 (60 GB) and a PSP. I love RPGs above all other gaming genres. That made the Playstation brand my logical home. Never owned the original XBox, but I purchased a 360 when it was released and sold it within a few days. The system just wasn’t for me.
I enjoy bringing you all my opinions about the latest news in the world of Playstation. It was a dream of mine to be involved in the industry. This site has provided not only that, but has also allowed me to make friends around the world. The time spent here is truly some of the best I have in the day. I look forwared to continuing the goal of Playstation Lifestyle: Gamers Giving Gamers the Goods Without the Corporate Stuff. How are we doing so far?

I am going to start off by saying, Thank you. Thank you for supporting PlayStation LifeStyle, thank you for believing in us, thank you for choosing us for your source for PlayStation info. We would be nothing if we didn’t have all of you as fans/readers. We really appreciate it. When I started the sev1512.wordpress blog, I never expected it to have much success, however myself and Chris Rah Osiris had high hopes and determination to make it something big.
Some of you only know me from this site, N4G, or the official PS forums. This article is so you can get to know us all on a personal level.
I am 25 years old, from Revere, MA and married to the most wonderful and supportive person in the world, my wife Karissa. (I love you Karissa!) We are expecting our first child, a baby girl named Ava, (I love you Ava!) September 24th. I am truly the happiest, and most proud man alive. I value family more than anything else in the world. I work as a Union Carpenter in Boston, UBC Local # 33. I do mostly commercial construction building multi-million dollar condos, or hotels. My most recent job was building Battery Wharf in Boston’s historic North End. I am proud to be Union, and I am proud of physical labor… I have much respect for all of you in college, or who have graduated college, but never forget about the men and women who built your college.
I have been gaming since I was 3 with my father playing Kaboom for Atari, and have owned every major console ever since. My console history is as follows… Atari, NES, Gameboy, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, PlayStation, N64, GBA, Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, Xbox, Nintendo DS, PSP, Nintendo Wii, and now the PlayStation 3. I am partial to PlayStation, because thats the brand that has brought me the most enjoyable gaming experience throughout the years. I feel as though PlayStation has the perfect controller. As you can see I owned the original Xbox, however Microsofts business strategy this generation along with them abandoning the orignal xbox so quickly, and hardware failure has made me choose to skip over the Xbox 360, until they offer something I must have. In the mean time, I am thoroughly enjoying my PS3.
I own a launch 60GB PS3, with a 160 HDD (soon to be upgrading to a 320GB as I only have 22GB free), I own pretty much all Sony first party games, along with a few other third party games. My favorite gaming series are Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, God Of War, Super Mario, Metroid, Legend of Zelda… My all time favorite console was SNES, and my all-time favorite game is Chrono Trigger/MGS4. I am a huge RPG fan. Especially during the SNES, and PSOne era’s. Thanks to the PS3, I have broadened my horizons when it comes to what games I play. I used to hate FPS, but Resistance: Fall of Man has changed that. The PS3 has also for the first time, got me into online gaming. I am a huge fan of the PS Store, and the PSN. I never imagined such things were possible on a gaming console.
Another reason, I am a PlayStation fan, is because I am a huge fan of Sony electronics. I have a 50″ Sony 1080p HDTV, Sony Receiver, Sony Speakers, Cybershot camera, HDD walkman, Sony VAIO laptop, even my alarm clock is Sony. Sony electronics have always had a style and quality about them that appealed to me, even long before PlayStation was around. From my parents first big screen TV, to my cassette walkman, I have always owned Sony products.
My goal for PlayStation LifeStyle is to be the best source for PlayStation news, as well as offering the best PlayStation community for our readers. I also want to bring you news, reviews, etc, from the perspective of a life-long gamer. I am not a writer, nor an author, I am a gamer, and I hope that shows in everything I do here on PSLS. I remain un-biased, and respect everyones choice of gaming console. I try to answer every email I get, as well as every message I get on the PSN, every PM I get on our forums and other forums. Basically I try to be honest and genuine while staying humble, and friendly towards everyone I encounter.

First and foremost, greetings gentlepersons. If you don’t know me, my name is StalkingSilence. OK – those of you following along at home with a copy of my birth certificate in-hand are probably shaking your heads – I know, that’s not really my name. But let me explain. I started the name when playing Counter-Strike when it was first released. I just sorta kept it and now it makes for really awkward mic conversations when I’m playing low key, non-FPS games like Tiger Woods online. No one really wants to play golf with a guy named StalkingSilence (sigh). Though the name sounds creepy and intimidating, I’m actually a pretty approachable guy. Feel free to drop me some hints and rumors at StalkingSilence@playstationlifestyle.net or just say hi next time you catch me peeking in your windows at night (oops – back to being creepy).
How did I get here? Sev1512 and Chris Rah Osiris approached me very early on about contributing to the site, mainly due to my glorious threads over at the PlayStation.com forums (ha). I sort of found my niche as the researcher, rumor buster, and PLAYSTATION Store content guy – and I have tried to bring that same info over to PlayStation LifeStyle. So while you might hear from me a little less than the others, I guarantee I have done my homework and the info is fresh, original, and can be backed up.
Why do I put so much time into tracking rumors? Since becoming a motivated hard-working young adult in the workforce, I have had decreasingly less and less personal time for gaming. Instead of giving up the hobby altogether, I’ve brought my organizational skills to gaming news and I like the structure associated with compiling it all together and making educated guesses about what the news implies. I’ve transferred my obsession with gaming to an obsession with being the first to know about gaming news and spreading the word. But where did this initial obsession with gaming come from?
I first gamed the pants off my Zenith computer. Decathalon, Joust, you know – the classics. Our family moved alot, so games became one of things that was always there for me and my brothers. Everytime I played a game, I wanted to make it better. I even took some courses on game design and worked as a 3d modeler and graphic artist for a few summers. Sometime I’ll see if I can post up some of the old games I created for the PC. I eventually went to college and finished off with a computer engineering degree and a business degree. Somewhere in there I met the future Mrs. Silence (haha) and we’re getting married this summer. Personal life, the fraternity, and playing college sports took a priority because they were so different from what I was used to. So even though I haven’t ended up in the gaming industry like I once thought I would… in some small way, through this site, I feel like I have. So thanks everyone for reading and thanks to all the other PlayStation LifeStyle authors for tagging along for the ride.

Hey guys. Its whoelse here and I’m going to talk about myself. I live in the UK and am currently the only European editor here. For someone who is a big gaming enthusiast, I got into gaming quite late at the age of 5 with the original PlayStation. Because I was born into a family with not a lot of money, I was slow to grow my small collection of games but I made sure that I enjoyed every one of them. My favourite PS1 game is Crash Bandicoot 2 because that game was and still is extremely addictive.
I didnt get another console until the PS2 only a few months after it was released and as with the PSX, I didnt gain too many games over the time I owned it but as I was older, I had more say in what games I did own so I got games like Vice City and Fifa. Some of my friends however bought Xboxs or Gamecubes but for me, the PS2 was always the best console, had the most innovation and of course had the best collection of games. Shortly after getting a PS2, my parents bought me a Game Boy Color but once the novelty worn off, I quickly got bored of it. I didn’t get another handheld until I bought myself a PSP. This time, my experience was very different. This is when I started to get serious about gaming and after being very impressed with my PlayStation 2, me and my peers really liked my purchase and I was impressed that i had not fallen into the big crowd of DS owners.
3 years later, and I dont use my PSP as much because I have its bigger brother; the PS3! Although the PS3 went to a bad start in the market, it is now steaming ahead and I am certain that I made the right decision over the Wii or 360. My favourite game so far is Metal Gear Solid 4! This game is head and shoulders above any game I have played before and is an excellent demonstration to what the PlayStation 3 can achieve. Im looking forward to see how the rest of this years games turn out.
I was first invited by Chris to write for the site when Chris and Sev were starting it up back in March this year. However I declined because I was busy as an editor on a site called PSLegion. Nearly two months later, and Sev contacted me and asked if I could write for the site. This time however I accepted and the rest is history. Especially for the last two months, the site has accelerated and gone from strengh to strengh. We now have over 400,000 hits which is amazing for a blog only nearly 4 months old. I enjoy writing for this site, working with a great team of people, and sharing my views with other gamers. Remember, we are gamers first, writers second.
