Shakedown Hawaii Release Date

Find Out When Shakedown: Hawaii Might Finally Appear

We first heard about Shakedown: Hawaii back in 2015. That’s when VBlank Entertainment, the studio behind Retro City Rampage, announced this 16-bit, open world adventure. Now, it finally has a release window of Q1 2019 for its PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and PC launch.

Get ready to build a shady corporation by completing missions, acquiring businesses, sabotaging competitors, and generally doing whatever it takes to rise to the top. Here’s an in-depth look at the gameplay you can expect.

In Shakedown: Hawaii, an old CEO is forced to adopt modern practices to rebuild his fallen empire alongside his aspiring DJ and gangster son, and the CEO’s consulting enforcer. You build your fortune through questionable subsidiaries, hidden fees, and whatever else you can get away with through white collar crime as well as a more hands-on approach. These characters can be customized with new outfits and even body modifications. Be sure to get a knee replacement if you want that double-jump ability!

This destructible open world in Shakedown: Hawaii spans “from the city to the suburbs, the beach to the water, to farms, parks, and the jungle.” With over 200 buildings you can enter and 80 businesses to lean on, there will be plenty of people to talk to and establishments to shakedown. Especially since you can go through Challenge, Free Roam, and Story modes.

You can see the game in action at 4 pm PT/7 pm ET via a livestream on VBlank’s Youtube channel.
