Watch Dogs Legion Release Date Announced

Watch Dogs Legion Release Date Announced

Ubisoft announced at its E3 2019 briefing that Watch Dogs Legion will release on March 6, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Alpha gameplay was showcased, giving a first look at the game and giving people a chance to see a recruitment mission.

Watch Dogs London is set in a futuristic version of London, where lethal drones are flying around and armed soldiers appear at every turn. The video walks people through a character recruitment. After one avatar died during a mission, the gameplay switched to Helen, an elderly woman and former assassin who is more capable than you might imagine. Players can recruit any NPC in the game into Dedsec and take back London. Each of them comes with their own origin story and unique set of skills for players to take advantage of. It also appears that each character the player chooses to recruit will have their own mask to accent their personality as well.

Watch Dogs Legion is the third installment in the Watch Dogs series. The first game, Watch Dogs, saw mixed reviews upon its release in 2014, and Watch Dogs 2 (which we reviewed) was well received critically when it launched in 2016. Many players have praised the series for its use of technology and hacking, and its unique multiplayer elements. Just like in other entries in the series, Watch Dogs Legion will allow players to roam a massive open world, either on foot or in vehicles.

In the alpha gameplay shown, the player even took control of a drone and flew it around, so the possibilities for traversal options in Watch Dogs Legion are even more expansive than in either title that came before it.
