After an unceremonious leak earlier this week thanks to the PlayStation social media channels, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed has been officially announced as part of today’s THQ Nordic 10th Anniversary Showcase. Coming exclusively to new-gen consoles and PC, the cinematic reveal trailer begins with a parody of Rammstein’s “Amerika” music video (while the actual song itself plays). Crypto then flies around the world, abducting humans, making them rock out, and even fighting and headbanging with a kaiju. Check out the reveal trailer below:
Developed by Black Forest Games—the same studio who did the Destroy All Humans remake last year—Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed is a full remake of the original 2006 game, rebuilt from scratch in Unreal Engine 4 exclusively for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Crypto returns to take on brand new challenges in cities across the earth during the 1960s, with more open-world environments than the first game. Additionally, the entire campaign can be played in two-player split-screen co-op. It’s unknown if it will also allow for network play.
To show the benefits to textures, lighting, and effects that the new consoles bring to the classic game, THQ Nordic and Black Forest Games also released a gameplay trailer for Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed. Particularly impressive are the building destruction effects as Crypto uses his flying saucer to tear down cities.
With even more powers, abilities, and locations than the first game, Black Forest Games is adding even more features in the rebuild. You’ll be able to customize your Flying Saucer colors, and the Crypto skins from the first game return, along with more to unlock.
Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. It doesn’t currently have a release date. Preorders are available now, and with a gameplay trailer already live, it’s expected fairly soon.
