It’s almost time for The Last of Us Part 1 to grace PS5 systems with its updated presentation and fine-tuned gameplay. Before that fateful day, however, Naughty Dog is taking one more opportunity to flex its masterful clip-cutting muscles by putting together The Last of Us Part 1 launch trailer. Prepare for violence, as it’s Joel and Ellie versus the world.

At 98 seconds in length, this launch trailer offers a more generous look at the game, especially when compared to those 15-second snippets that Naughty Dog had shared previously.
In the launch trailer, both Joel and Ellie put on their savage hats, talking nasty and fighting brutally against both humans and the infected.
Forget about being eased into the experience, as the video opens up with Troy Baker’s Joel violently interrogating a hunter for information. It then cuts to Ellie taking out multiple enemies with her bow and arrows, as well as getting up close and personal with her knife.
At the midway mark, the genre switches to horror, with the sound of a Clicker introducing the terrifying infected. The pace picks up as the infected begin to overwhelm the heroes. A variety of different weapons are shown, with stealth no longer being an option.
The trailer ends with a quick montage of shots of the main cast of characters, offering a glimpse at how they have been overhauled for this PS5 release. This is dubbed over with lines from Joel and Ellie.
The Last of Us Part 1 launches on September 2 for PS5 and is in development for PC.
