Anyone looking to buy a PS5 slim model is in luck. The console has received a price drop just in time for the holiday 2024 season.
Both PS5 disc and digital versions are $50 off
All PS5 slim models are currently marked down $50. The console that includes the disc drive is $449.99, while the digital version is $399.99. This also includes bundles like the NBA 2K5 digital bundle, which is currently $449.99. The offer is available at participating retailers, including Amazon, PlayStation Direct, GameStop, and Best Buy.
Not only is this discount coming just in time for the holiday season, but also just before the PS5 Pro launch. PS5 newcomers potentially missed out on purchasing the $700 enhanced console. Although these slim versions don’t have all the bells and whistles, it will get players a solid entry into the newest console gen. At the very least, they’ll be able to easily fit it on their TV stand unlike the monstrosity that is the launch version.
Anyone picking up a discounted PS5 console should check out the current deals on the PlayStation Store. As of this writing, there are several solid 2024 games marked down. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Persona 3 Reload are all roughly between $40 and $50. In terms of older stuff, players can pick up Bloodborne for $9.99; might as well since Sony will seemingly never greenlight a remaster of this anyways. Speaking of remasters, the Crash Bandicoot Quadrilogy bundle is $35.99 right now.
One game players totally can’t get for a discount is Horizon Zero Dawn. Guerilla’s open world game recently got a price increase from $20 to $40. This comes just before Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered’s launch on October 31, 2024. The remaster costs $49.99. However, players could just grab a used physical copy of the game for cheap, and just upgrade for $10 if they have a PS5 with a disc drive.
