Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Review (PS3)

When it comes to Transformers only one word comes to mind: nostalgia. Indeed as I sit here reflecting on the hallowed toy, cartoon, and now big budget movie franchise I’m filled with fond memories of having a few of the toys as a kid and having seen the cartoons on…

  • An amazing Transformers story with some genuinely gripping moments.
  • You can make your own Transformer in multiplayer with a large selection of customizable parts.
  • Contains a good variety of different Autobots and Decepticons during the campaign.
  • Levels are designed to emphasize the specific abilities of a given character adding some variety to the gameplay.
  • The design of the last chapter is fantastic.
  • There are framerate issues and disc streaming loadtimes in the single player campaign. Also there's some audio glitching during some cutscenes.
  • Multiplayer can be laggy at times which leads to framerate drops and a lowering of the texture detail.
  • You can't take cover, but the enemies can.
  • Frailty of the characters is apparent during very intense gunfights.
